Backfilling the Zollverein colliery

In the heart of the Ruhr area in Essen (NRW) are the grounds of the Zollverein colliery, a coal mine that was active until 1986 and is also unofficially known as the ‘Eiffel Tower of the Ruhr’. The Zollverein colliery has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001 and is therefore officially one of the most important cultural assets in the world. In the course of planning the backfilling of shafts II and XII at Zeche Zollverein, Thyssen Schachtbau approached Schwing in 2018 with a request for a concrete pumping concept. Read more

The Job of a Lifetime

The demolition of Qualcomm stadium in San Diego, California marked the end of an era of memories for the Pernicano family. It also meant the race was on to build the new home of the San Diego State Aztec football team for the 2022 season. Wupperverband invests in new sewage sludge pump system at the Buchenhofen site

The Wupperverband, based in Wuppertal, operates 14 reservoirs, eleven sewage treatment plants, a sludge incineration plant as well as flood retention basins and stormwater tanks in the catchment area of the river Wupper. At the Buchenhofen site in Wuppertal/Germany, a high-performance wastewater treatment plant ensures clean conditions. The sewage sludge that inevitably arises during the treatment of wastewater in Buchenhofen and surrounding sewage treatment plants is dried and incinerated in the adjacent incineration plant in an environmentally friendly manner. Stetter mobile batching plant M 3.0 contributes to the expansion of Frankfurt Airport

The new mobile M 3.0 batching plant from Stetter is being used for the first time in the construction of the new Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport in Germany. The system was ready for operation in August 2019 having only required three days to assemble and since then has been supplying one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Europe with up to 135 m³ of fresh concrete per hour. Fraport AG is significantly expanding the capacities of Frankfurt Airport with the construction of the new Terminal 3. Once completed in 2023 Frankfurt Airport will be able to handle a further 21 million passenger arrivals and departures. Construction company has relied on truck-mounted concrete pumps from SCHWING for more than 50 years

Decades of business relationships are something special in today's fast paced world. H. Huetter Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG and SCHWING GmbH can look back on a particularly long partnership. In 1966, and thus more than 50 years ago, the first SCHWING truck-mounted concrete pump – an ABP 30 on a Unimog chassis – was handed over to the construction company from Dorsten/Germany at a price of just under 90,000 Deutsche Mark.
