New Concrete Mixer Factory in Jamshedpur, India

The facility was inaugurated on 27 June 2026 by Mr. Girish Wagh, Managing Director & CEO, Tata Motors Limited, in the presence of Mr. V. G. Sakthikumar, Chairman and Managing Director, SCHWING Stetter India, along with the leadership teams of Tata Motors and SCHWING Stetter India, partners, vendors and employees.

The new factory marks a significant milestone in SCHWING Stetter India’s journey, as the company expands beyond its strong manufacturing base in South India and strengthens its ability to serve customers across North and East India, as well as international markets.

A strategic manufacturing investment in India

The Jamshedpur facility covers an area of 9,600 square metres and is dedicated to the production of truck-mounted concrete mixers. The facility includes key support areas for assembly, vehicle integration, quality inspection, testing, and dispatch readiness.

In its initial phase, the factory will produce 200 concrete mixers per month. The company plans to scale this capacity to 400 concrete mixers per month in the next phase. This will add to SCHWING Stetter India’s overall truck mixer output and support the rising demand for reliable concrete transportation solutions in India and overseas.

Once fully operational, the factory is expected to create around 200 direct jobs and 50 indirect jobs, while also supporting vendor development and the local industrial ecosystem in Jharkhand.

Why Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur has long been recognised as one of India’s important manufacturing hubs. With its strong industrial culture, skilled ecosystem and proximity to Tata Motors, the city offers a strategic advantage for SCHWING Stetter India.

The location brings concrete mixer manufacturing closer to Tata Motors’ vehicle platform ecosystem. This proximity will help improve logistics, reduce supply chain lead time, strengthen chassis and mixer integration, and provide faster response to customers.

As India continues to invest in roads, bridges, metros, airports, urban infrastructure and industrial projects, the demand for Ready-Mix Concrete is increasing steadily. With this growth, the need for reliable concrete mobility solutions has become even more important. The Jamshedpur factory has been created to support this requirement with better speed, quality, and regional reach.

SCHWING Stetter India’s journey and capability

SCHWING Stetter India began its journey in 1998 from a two-room office in Chennai. Over the years, the company has built a strong manufacturing base in India and has become one of the leading names in concrete and construction equipment.

From batching plants and concrete pumps to boom pumps, truck mixers, self-loading mixers, shotcrete equipment, and other construction solutions, SCHWING Stetter India has developed deep product capability for India’s infrastructure and construction sector.

The company has built five factories in South India, including its Global Manufacturing Hub in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu. The Jamshedpur facility now adds a new geographical dimension to this journey and reflects the company’s strategy to be closer to key markets and customers.

The Strategy behind the new plant

The strategy behind the Jamshedpur factory is clear. It brings together three important strengths:

  1. Tata Motors’ mobility manufacturing ecosystem in Jamshedpur.
  2. SCHWING Stetter India’s concrete mixer expertise.
  3. India’s growing demand for Ready-Mix Concrete and concrete mobility solutions.

By placing the new factory close to Tata Motors, SCHWING Stetter India aims to improve coordination between vehicle platforms and concrete mixer manufacturing. This will help support faster integration, better production planning, improved delivery timelines and stronger customer response.

The facility will also strengthen SCHWING Stetter India’s reach across North and East India, where infrastructure and industrial development continue to grow.

Production capacity and export opportunities

The Jamshedpur factory will begin with a production capacity of 200 concrete mixers per month and scale up to 400 mixers per month. This additional capacity will support the company’s overall truck mixer output and provide greater flexibility in serving both domestic and international markets.

Products manufactured at the facility will follow international quality standards. This creates an opportunity for SCHWING Stetter India to support export markets, including SAARC countries and other overseas requirements.

In the future, the company also plans to explore additional product opportunities from the facility, including other concreting equipment such as batching plants and concrete pumps, based on market demand.

Leadership perspectives

Commenting on the inauguration, Mr. Girish Wagh, Managing Director & CEO, Tata Motors Limited, said:

“The inauguration of SCHWING Stetter India’s new facility in Jamshedpur is an important step in strengthening the manufacturing and integration ecosystem for concrete mixer applications. With Tata Motors’ mobility platform strength and SCHWING Stetter’s concrete equipment expertise, this facility will help serve the growing needs of customers in India and export markets with better speed, reliability and coordination.”

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. V. G. Sakthikumar, Chairman and Managing Director, SCHWING Stetter India, said:

“Starting our new plant in Jamshedpur is a major step in strengthening our manufacturing and supply chain capability in India. Being closer to Tata Motors will improve logistics efficiency and create better coordination between our concrete mixer technology and vehicle platforms. This will help us increase production and deliver high-quality equipment on time to support India’s growing infrastructure development.” He further added: “After building a strong manufacturing base in South India over the last 28 years, our move to Jamshedpur reflects our commitment to be closer to customers in North and East India. This facility will also contribute to Jharkhand’s industrial ecosystem by supporting employment, vendor development and future manufacturing opportunities.”

A new chapter from India, for India and the world

The SCHWING Jamshedpur Concrete Mixer Factory is more than a new production facility. It represents a stronger manufacturing connection between mobility and concrete technology, between India’s industrial capability and infrastructure growth, and between local manufacturing and global opportunities.

From Jamshedpur, SCHWING Stetter India begins a new chapter in concrete mobility, built to serve India’s growing construction needs and future export markets with speed, quality and trust.
